About the Don Orione Centre Kaburugi
A Catholic private institution for children and youth with intellectual and physical disabilities, in Kaburugi, Kandara, Murang'a County, Kenya.
We are a special needs centre founded and run by the Sons of Divine Providence, the religious family of Saint Luigi Orione. Every weekday our buses bring children with autism, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, hydrocephalus and other conditions from their homes to the centre, for many, the only way they can reach school at all.
Here they find specialised education, therapy, life-skills training and meals prepared on site. We work with each child individually, and with their families and community, so that a disability is never lived as a curse and no child is hidden away.
